The adventure begins................

Viva Las Vegas!

We departed Edmonton at noon on Saturday January 5, 2013, and our first stop was to visit our friends Henry and Linda Crawford in Calgary. Then on to Great Falls, Montana (Flying J truck stop) for the night.  After a long day of travels on Sunday, we spent the night in St. George, Utah; then a short two hour drive to Vegas early Monday morning.  We were very fortunate as roads were in great condition, with minimal snow or ice.

Linda kept busy during our trip with her Rosetta Stone french language course in preparation for our holiday to France this summer. Ron was very comfortable driving all "65 feet" of us, with his music rockin'. Contrary to distracted driving laws, that is the 'music remote' he is holding in the pic!

After getting our rig and vehicle washed, we settled in and then off to the strip.  Ron had some luck at the Wheel of Fortune machine!  We must be adjusting to the retired life quickly as we neglected to set our watches, to account for the time change, and showed up for our Cirque du Soleil show one hour early! Thank goodness the clocks moved one hour back not forward!! Weather in Vegas for the next couple of days will be in the 16 degree range, bright and sunny; apologies to our Canadian friends for the weather reports:)

We will be here until Thursday or Friday and then off to Palm Springs for a couple of weeks. This blogging is a work in progress until we learn all the 'ins and outs', so hang in there with us! TTYS.

  4. Hi Dana. Yes I like Rosetta Stone; quite basic so far, but a good review of my high school French. How is your Carter doing now?
